A sense of community influences almost everything I do, especially when it comes to my job, because I’m fortunate in having a career that involves people and their lives.
Las Vegas is my home. And I love it!
My family first came here in the 1930’s, during the Great Depression, because my Grandpa got a job working on the Hoover Dam. My family started to put down roots and watched Las Vegas grow.
Jump ahead a few decades to when I was born at Southern Nevada Memorial Hospital (now called University Medical Center) and, according to the census, there were 150,000 people living in Las Vegas.
By the time I turned three, the population had soared to 180,000 and my parents decided it was getting too crowded. They moved us to northern Nevada, where we'd be surrounded by alfalfa fields, just a stone's throw from the Carson River.
I didn't want to move -- I remember crying, but that was because our house in Las Vegas was the only home I'd ever known.
Of course, I got used to my new surroundings, where my brother, sisters and I got to fish, swim and skip rocks.
Still, as I got older, I yearned to live in Las Vegas. I still had a lot of family there and I’d stay with my aunt for a few weeks every summer. I remember I couldn’t wait to visit so I could swim in my aunt’s pool (even at night, because Las Vegas didn’t get nearly as cold in the summer as it did ‘up north’!)!
When it came time for college, I decided to attend UNLV. Moving back to Las Vegas was an easy decision for me, and one that I’ve never regretted! I received my BS in Elementary Education and started teaching school. I loved everything about being a teacher; the kids, the parents, the day to day.
Eventually, I got married and had two wonderful sons, by which time my parents and siblings had all moved back to Las Vegas, which made it easy to spend holidays together and help one another with home projects and the like.
Nowadays, Sunday morning (early-early-early!!) means breakfast for everyone at Mom’s house – a tradition that keeps us close and part of each other’s lives. We’re all involved in neighborhood events and charities and we keep each other in touch with the things that matter to us – family and community.
That sense of community infuses almost everything I do, especially when it comes to my job, because I’m fortunate in having a career that involves people and their lives. I recognize that my clients are counting on my experience and expertise to guide them in making the best decisions in their choice to buy and sell their houses and, with 21 years of experience in Las Vegas construction and real estate, I’ve got a lot to offer.
One of the reasons I’ve enjoyed so much success as a real estate agent is because I truly care about the people who’ve put their trust and faith in me. I also want people to talk about their experience with me as their Realtorâ in the most glowing terms ... and I know they’ll do that only if I do a great job for them.
I think of what I do as helping people realize their dreams: whether it’s buying or selling a house and finding just the right place to live or locating the property that can make a good investment, it brings me great satisfaction when I get to see the smiles on the faces of my clients as our community continues to grow and prosper!
Las Vegas is my home... and I love it!
With Gratitude,
